It is finished... almost

The wallpaper is gone, the wallpaper paste is in the past, the primer is on, and the paint has been painted (as well as a large portion of my bangs but that's another story). The bathroom looks nice and my arms are tired. It's very blue (the bathroom, not me). The kids said it looks like someone else's bathroom. Would whoever owns that bathroom please come and clean it more often?
Thank you.
Now, I'm off tomorrow to find a couple towel rods that I like. Hopefully that will be a quicker ordeal than picking paint.
I'll post before and after pics once I get my new charger for my camera. I'm saving the battery for the awesome pictures and don't want to wear it out downloading to my computer.

Spring is springing

Ahh, it's beginning to look like spring at our castle. Bunnies are hopping on over (well, ceramic ones, not the real kind, at least, that I know of anyway), flowers are blooming (again, silk ones, but they are purdy!), and eggs. Pink, blue, green, yellow, orange, multicolored, they're all here.

It was so nice to crack the windows and have some fresh air in the house. Maybe it will flush out the nasty stomach bug Wolfgang seems to have trouble shaking.

I am finally getting to paint the upstairs bathroom. I will post pictures when I am finished. My lovely sister is coming and I'm putting her to work. Crack that whip and yield that brush. We are painting women, hear us roar!

Happy Spring!

Bible Camp

While at an event at church last night (eating dinner of course, because nothing beats a church potluck!) Wolfgang and I were talking. He said he would like to go to Bible Camp this summer. "Really? But, there's no one there that you would know, so are you sure you'd still want to go?" I replied. I coudn't imagine going to a camp without knowing anyone when I was his age.
Wolfgang, in a very grownup voice said "But, Mama, what better way to learn about God and His love than by meeting and making new friends?"
Amen!

New obsession

I found a new obsession. I found a new website titled www.picnik.com. It's a photo editing site. So much fun! Take a look and see what you can do.

Put your listening ears on

Before I left for retreat, I had asked Wolfgang to help me bring down some things from upstairs.
"Wofgang, go upstairs. At the end of my bed, on the floor, is a clear plastic bag that has a comforter and sheets and blanket in it. Would you please bring it down for me?"
"Sure Mama" he replied.
A few minutes later, I hear him coming down the stairs. And in he walks with a large pink plastic dress bag from the dress barn, with two of Hubster's old suits under it.
"Wolfgang, what did I ask you to get for me?"
"A clear plastic bag at the end of your bed with sheets and a blankie in it."
"Ok, then what are you carrying down here?"
"OOOOOOHhhhhhh, this isn't it? I thought you wanted me to go in your closet and get the pink bag and bring it down." (Because, apparently, clear and pink are equivalent...as are at the end of my bed and in my closet, way in the back, beyond all the other crap in there)"But, isn't this what you wanted?"
Tonight's plan: a lesson on cleaning and turning on your listening ears.

Scrappin Blogs

I found a bunch of new blog layouts here: http://scrappinblogs.blogspot.com/
So, for now, I'm hoping to have the luck of the Irish with me as a I blog. I'll probably change me mind again on the layout, but gosh & begorra, it's fun!
Check out the website and see if anything interests you.

It's almost time!!

Only 2 more days until my quilt retreat! Yahoo, I'm very excited. I don't know what all I will be working on, but I will post pictures when I return. I will be packing everything on Weds and taking off as soon as I can on Thursday. I love these retreats. I feel rejuvenated and happy when I return and I definitely feel very creative when I come back. These women are so very talented and it's inspring to see their works. Ah, fabric, thread, irons & ironing boards...that's what this girl's dreams are made of!

Girl Scout Cookies-Delicious or Evil?

It's Girl Scout cookie time. How do I know? Because those evil, nasty, outstandingly delicious Thin Mints keep calling my name from the cupboard. Hear them? "Anne, AAAAAAnnnnnnee, come and eat me. Don't you want me, baby? Don't you want my scrumpdili-icious chocolatey-minty goodness melting oh so delectably on your tongue? Don't you want to taste my minty goodness? You know you want me. Come and get me, big girl." I just tell it to shut up. I also try to ignore it. So far, not wholey successful.
But, in lieu of eating the whole box, I went to http://www.blogthings.com/ and found out what kind of girl scout cookie I am. Guess what: I am a Do-si-do.

You are easy going and naturally happy. You don't need a lot to make you smile. You genuinely care about people and are a great friend. You're always doing your best to make the world a better place.Even though there isn't an immature bone in your body, you still are like a big kid sometimes. Why make life complicated when the best parts are actually quite simple? You enjoy the small joys of life.

Who knew??

Score

I had the best time shopping today. First, a run to Walgreens. Had my little coupon from their flyer for Dove soap bars (3.15 oz) for $0.99. Limit 3 (allegedly). I bought 8 bars of soap, and two Revlon eye shadows (B1G1). Used my Walgreens soap coupon and 2-$1 off Revlon coupons.
And, the register gave me all the soaps for 99 cents. So, my grand total spent was $11.92 (paid with a gift card). Then, I got a $10 register reward coupon good toward my next purchase! Woo hooo!!!!

I headed off to Hobby Lobby to return a few items and then headed to the 80% off aisle. Found the cutest little iron thingy, looks like a bowl with feet and a handle. I'd been eyeing it for a while, and so I got it....for $6. Yeah!

Then off to Target. I had 9-$1 target coupons off 6 packs of Mott applesauce. And, $1/2 Juicey Juice. So, 9 packs of applesauce and 2 6-packs of juice boxes later, my total was $7.92.

I LLOOOOOVVVEEE a good bargain and three in one day, well, that's just outstanding!!!!

I'm running!!

Did you know that Kenosha is hosting a marathon on May 2? And, guess what?? I'm running!!
I so can't wait for this!!
And if you believe this load of bull, I've got some great swampland for you to buy! Cheap.
I mean, seriously, do you really think I would subject myself to 26.2 miles of sheer grueling pain and agony? Nope, not me. I can barely make it for 10 minutes on the treadmill. I will definitely not be running. But, I do have a good friend who will be running and I plan on cheering her on.
Want more info about the marathon? Check out this site: http://www.wisconsinmarathon.com/Index.html
See you by the lake to cheer!
p.s. Rita & Sue: gotcha!!

Hair's the Thing

Princess loves to have her hair done. Ribbons, barrettes, headbands, the girly-er, the better. I found a fun website that has lots of ideas on it. Too bad her hair isn't long enough for most of them. I found the links on the website interesting too as some of them are for shorter hair.
Check it out: http://hair4myprincess.blogspot.com/

Name change

Due to request from the husband, I have made some name changes to my blog. He will henceforth be known as 'the hubster.' My son will be known as Wolfgang (because it sounds oh so much like his real name, right?! Well, actually, that's the name he picked to be called in his German class.) And my littlest one will be called Princess (since she believes that is what she will grow up to be, a ballerina/teacher/princess).
I may slip up from time to time and use the wrong name but I'll try and be good.
