Meeting with Santa

We went to see Santa. C was so excited, she told me all week long what she would ask him for and what she would tell him.
She and I got there first, we were waiting for the Hubster and S to get there after Fencing practice.
C kept moving closer and closer to me. She asked "Can I ask Santa if he'll bring me my 2 front teeth? I think he knows the tooth fairy, or maybe Mrs. Claus does, maybe he could just deliver them for her??"
I told her I thought that would be fine. She told me again what her wish list contained and tried to be very patient waiting for her brother to arrive.
S and Hubster finally arrived. The kids sat down on Santa's lap and.....
nothing.
Complete silence from both of them.
Santa, bless his North Pole heart, tried to get them to talk but they both just looked and looked at him.
They got their picture taken and off we went.
Soon as we were out the door, they couldn't STOP talking.
And both resolved to be writing him a letter with their wish lists.

You Better Watch Out

Saturday, we visited with Santa on the trolley. Princess was so excited to see him, she promptly forgot everything on her list, but did manage to get it together enough to ask for a Snuggie (loftly goals for my girl). She is thoroughly convinced that this is the REAL Santa. Wolfgang didn't agree but was happy to give his list and get a candy cane.

And the days of writing a letter to Santa? Over, with a capital O. We emailed Santa this morning (www.emailsanta.com) And, almost immediately, we got a response back. And there was much rejoicing in our land with multitudes of munchkins (well, at least, my two muchkins thought it was cool).
Personal letters from Santa, life doesn't get any better.

Christmas Eve Eve

Had a fun filled day today explaining for, oh, about 45 TIMES, that tomorrow is actually Christmas Eve and I was making a tiny, little, miniscule joke about today being Christmas Eve Eve. That Carissa is getting as literal as Simon. It was quite a day and I even had to play the 'Santa' card as in "If you even think about doing that (hitting your sister, pushing your brother, running away from me in the grocery store, slamming the door on your sister/brother, don't take toy/book/candy cane away from your sister/brother). I, yi, yi! Thank goodness the Santa card still works. By the way, I showed Simon a picture of Santa in someone's house and he said "OK, now THAT makes me believe in Santa. There's no way that could be fake!" Gotta love a 7 yr old's logic!!
