Family Embroidery

I tried something new.
Scary, huh?!
Well, it wasn't, scary I mean. It was a little frustrating. And it happened before Christmas.
This was the gift I made for my friend. She is living in the Netherlands for a few years, but I really wanted to make her something special when she visited this year.
It's not perfect but I thought it turned out okay. And, my friend? She liked it, yah!!
The frustrating part came from the fact that the last time I embroidered anything was many, many years ago. Eons, in fact.
But, I liked the way this ended up. I may just have to make myself one. With my family members, I mean.

Snuggie Patrol

I don't often get to do much sewing these days. But this Christmas has given me the excuse to get downstairs and see what the ol' machine can do.
I made a snuggie for Hubster's nephew today. It turned out pretty darned cute and was amazingly simple to make. S modeled it for me and said it kept him warm during my picture taking.
OK, confession time. As I was attempting to take the picture, I noticed my screen was blurry in one spot. No matter what I did, it didn't get better.  I reprogrammed, switched settings, turned the camera on and off and nothing worked. As I harumphed around, S asked what was wrong. I showed him my screen.

He looked at me and said "Do you think the lens has something on it?" I checked and yes, yes it did. Cleaned it off and it worked great.
I don't like it when the kid is smarter than me.
Humbug.
