For those of you with kids in Grades 1-6, Barnes and Noble has info on it's summer reading program available. http://www.barnesandnoble.com/summerreading/

If you read 8 books, you can receive a free book from their list. You just need to download and fill out the summer reading journal and then turn it in at Barnes and Noble between May 26 and Sept 7 and pick out your free book.

Smile of the Day

Tonight, Princess & I were waiting for Wolfgang to finish up at choir. So we played a game. On a rug we were on, all the letters of the alphabet are around the outside of it. I would say a letter, Princess would find it and then tell me a word that began with it. For most of the letters, Princess would respond with one of her friend's names so we were working on using a word and not a name.
I said "T" and Princess found it. "I know what starts with T,...... tea!"
"Well, T is the letter, what's the word?"
"Tea!"
"Not the letter honey, a word."
"TEA!"
"Right, T's the letter, but can you think of a word that starts with the ta sound?"
"TEA!" this time with a motion of drinking. "Like the kind you have in a cup!"
"Oh, you mean tea like you drink. Good one! (At this point, I was giggling and Princess was just looking at me as if it was about time her poor old mother finally got it!) Can you think of any more words that start with a T?"
After a few seconds, Princess replies "Yep, ....Coffee"

Blogger Barbie

OK, this shouldn't be as funny as I am thinking it is, but really...take a look......

This post and the last one are what happens when you can't sleep in the middle of the night. There's some strange stuff out there on the 'net!

Make My -Senior Moment

If you need a little laughter, read this article:

Stretch Marks

Some men have them. Many women have them. I have them. Quite a lot of them in fact. What am I talking about?
Stretch marks.
The badges of motherhood.
At least, that's what one of my co-workers said when we were both pregnant. I thought it was a quaint, cute, funny way of looking at them. As in, aww, isn't that a cute thing to say, a new mommy-to-be talking about the sweet changes your little baby can make?? Until I looked in the mirror one day. And, there they were. Nasty things. Darn it all anyway!
But, were they nasty, really?
Since becoming a mom, I have experienced things I never dreamed would happen.
I never thought I would care so much about someone other than myself.
I never thought I could feel so deeply about how another person was being treated by others.
I never worried so much about someone else's safety.
I grew and stretched in ways that were inconceivable to me in my pre-mom days. Skin stretch marks occur when skin is pulled by rapid growth or stretching. While I do have my fair share of visible stretch marks, the ones that I am most affected by are the ones that are unseen, the heart and soul stretch marks.
I'll take 'em and wear them with pride.
Well, the good ones that is. The other ones can take a flying leap and get off my tummy and legs.

Blog Book

I recently came across a service that turns your BLOG into a BOOK! Holy moly, the things that can be done these days! mI didn't know that you could do something like this.
As it turns out, there apparently a number of services that will do it for you! Here are a couple examples and the places to find them. I have not looked at all of these so I don't know much about them, but I thought it was a cool idea.

Pictures..soon

I got my battery charger. Now, after the battery is charged, I promise I will post the pictures of my pretty blue bathroom. Blue with chocolate brown accents. Hopefully, I'll have my curtain done before I take the pics too.
